This Privacy Policy describes how Valkyrie ("Valkyrie," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our mobile application, website (tryvalkyrie.com), hardware monitoring system, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create a Valkyrie account, we may collect:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Payment information (processed by third-party payment providers; Valkyrie does not store full payment card numbers)
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access or use the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address
- Browser type
- Device type
- Operating system
- Application version
- Log and usage information related to account activity, performance, and security
We use this information to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
1.3 Video and Monitoring Data
When you use Valkyrie with compatible camera systems, including Ring cameras, we may collect:
- Live video feeds from monitored stalls
- Motion event recordings
- Detection timestamps
- Alert history
- Event metadata associated with behavioral detections
1.4 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Valkyrie does not intentionally collect:
- Biometric identifiers of users
- Protected health information about users
- Precise geolocation information from users' devices
However, we may receive general location information derived from IP addresses or information voluntarily provided by users.
Valkyrie is designed to monitor equine behavior and does not collect information regarding food intake, water consumption, or physiological health metrics unless such features are added in the future and disclosed through an updated Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information we collect to:
- Create and manage user accounts
- Operate Valkyrie's monitoring and alert systems
- Generate colic risk alerts and behavioral notifications
- Process subscription payments
- Improve the accuracy, performance, and reliability of our AI systems

Valkyrie does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for advertising purposes.
3. Artificial Intelligence and Model Improvement
By using the Service, you grant Valkyrie the right to use de-identified, anonymized, and aggregated information derived from video footage, detection events, and system activity to develop, train, evaluate, and improve Valkyrie's machine learning and artificial intelligence models.
Such information will be processed in a manner designed to prevent it from identifying individual users.
Users who wish to opt out of having their data used for AI model training may contact us at tryvalkyrie@gmail.com. Opting out will not affect access to the core Service, though it may limit Valkyrie's ability to personalize or improve detection accuracy over time.
4. Video Data and Manual Review
Video footage associated with the Service may be reviewed by authorized Valkyrie personnel for purposes including:
- Validating alerts
- Improving model performance
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Providing customer support
- Investigating suspected misuse of the Service
Access to video data is limited to personnel with a legitimate business need.
By using the Service, you consent to such review.
5. How We Share Information
5.1 Service Providers
We may share information with trusted third-party vendors that assist in operating the Service, including:

- Analytics and infrastructure providers

5.2 Ring and Other Camera Providers
The Service may integrate with Ring cameras and related infrastructure.
Information processed through those systems may also be subject to the privacy policies and terms of the applicable provider.
Valkyrie is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party providers.
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect rights or property
- Prevent fraud
- Address security concerns
- Protect the safety of users, animals, or the public
5.4 Business Transfers
If Valkyrie is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy proceeding, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and fulfill legal obligations.
Current retention practices include:
- Video recordings are generally retained for fourteen (14) days and then permanently deleted.
- Account information is retained while an account remains active.
Upon account cancellation or deletion, Valkyrie will delete or anonymize personal information within thirty (30) days unless retention is required by law, necessary to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect the security and integrity of the Service.
We may retain anonymized and aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify an individual user.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
These measures may include:
- Encrypted data transmission
- Access controls
- Authentication safeguards
- Internal security procedures
No security system is perfect. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.

Valkyrie and its service providers may use cookies, local storage technologies, and similar tools to:

Users may access and review flagged video clips associated with their account directly through the Valkyrie application.

Valkyrie does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

- Receive equal service regardless of exercising privacy rights

11. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals.
Because there is currently no universally accepted standard for responding to such signals, Valkyrie does not currently respond to or alter its practices based on Do Not Track requests.
12. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Valkyrie does not knowingly collect personal information from children under eighteen.
If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain integrations with third-party products and services.
Valkyrie is not responsible for the privacy practices, policies, or content of third-party services.
Users should review the privacy policies of any third-party services they choose to use.
